After years of intense gridlock that allowed President Barack Obama to unlawfully legislate from the Executive Branch using his ‘phone and pen’, the new Republican led government is not sitting on their laurels and is preparing for action the moment Donald Trump is sworn into office.
Jan. 3 marked the first day of the new Congress, and the Senate has already begun preparations to repeal parts of Obamacare under a process known as reconciliation, which will allow them to dismantle the boondoggle healthcare program piece by piece requiring only a simply majority vote.
But along with this process that is focusing on removing Obamacare, Donald Trump is also not letting the grass grow beneath his feet and has let it be known to the Department of Homeland Security that they should prepare to begin plans to start building the border wall the moment he gives the oath of office.
A memo from the Department of Homeland Security, which was recently reviewed by Reuters, suggest that the Trump administration plans to hit the ground running on the construction of that U.S.-Mexico border wall when they move into the White House later this month. The memo apparently summarized a meeting held between DHS officials and Trump’s transition team on December 5th in which requests were made for an assessment of “all assets available for border wall and barrier construction.”
In a wide-ranging request for documents and analysis, President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team asked the Department of Homeland Security last month to assess all assets available for border wall and barrier construction.
The requests were made in a Dec. 5 meeting between Trump’s transition team and Department of Homeland Security officials, according to an internal agency memo reviewed by Reuters. The document offers a glimpse into the president-elect’s strategy for securing the U.S. borders and reversing polices put in place by the Obama administration. – Zerohedge
Ironically, President-Elect Trump does not have to go to Congress, or sign an Executive Order to build a wall on the border of Mexico since the legislative branch already passed a bill allowing for this back in 2006. And it was only through the agendas and malfeasance of President’s Bush and Obama that the wall was never constructed, with all that is necessary is for Trump to direct funding assigned to DHS to the purpose of building the barrier.
Just as former President Ronald Reagan once said, it appears to once again be ‘Morning in America’. And not only does the new administration have the energy and ideas to change the stagnant status quo that has proliferated the government similar to that of the Carter years, but Congress as well appears to have gained new life and is ready to make up for the economic and political destruction imbued on the country over the prior eight years.
